Botany Bay

Alan Ladd plays Hugh Tarrant, a medical student living in England who is unjustly convicted of a crime he did not commit and is sentenced to the new penal colony in New South Wales, Australia. James Mason plays Captain Paul Gilbert, who on the surface is a seemingly normal military captain who simply lacks charm but is soon revealed to be the cruel and sadistic man he is. Buxom beauty Patricia Medina is also on board gives the captain a good eyeful in exchange for a more comfortable journey. She is also big trouble for Tarrant. It doesn't take long for Captain Gilbert and Dr. Tarrant to fall out with each other, which leads to a number of vile cruelties - including a horrible and completely barbaric keelhauling.

Botany Bay D.V.D.
This is a rare gem & loosely based on historical fact. While there may never have been a "Hugh Talent" there was most certainly characters like the ones portrayed in this fast paced action adventure! Botany Bay is a gem of a movie worthy of any movie collection!!!
